Hausman United Communities is a non-profit, grass-roots organization
of residents living in seven subdivisions to the northwest of the city of San Antonio
that were illegally annexed by the city on December 31, 2005.
Although several of our directors and members also serve as directors on
various HOA boards, the organization itself is not connected in any way
with any homeowners association. We are an independent 501(c)4
organization whose purpose is to preserve and enhance the quality of life in our
neighborhoods. Our primary goal right now is to overturn the
illegal annexation, but we are also involved in other matters
affecting our quality of life, such as: |
');

|
- monitoring the rapid development that
is taking place near our communities without the infrastructure
required to support the development;
- monitoring efforts by TxDOT to convert Loop 1604 and Bandera Road
into toll roads;
- advocating that the city of San Antonio provide all residents the
option to utilize city environmental services, as required by law;
- advocating that the city of San Antonio meet the public safety needs
of residents by providing adequate law enforcement, fire protection,
and emergency medical services, as required by law;
- seeking to have TxDOT and the city of San Antonio install traffic
lights at our most dangerous intersections;
- monitoring actions by Emergency Services District #7 and the
Helotes Fire Department, since they will be providing our fire
protection after we are disannexed;
- encouraging participation by residents in the National Night Out
program; and
- sponsoring a Boy Scout Troop and a
Cub Scout Pack that meet at
Bob Beard Elementary School.
