Hausman United Communities is a non-profit, grass-roots organization of residents living in seven subdivisions on the northwest side of the city of San Antonio that were illegally annexed by the city on December 31, 2005. Our organization is in no way affiliated with any homeowner association. We are an independent 501(c)4 organization whose purpose is to preserve and enhance the quality of life in our neighborhoods. To that end, we are engaged in such asctivities as:
- monitoring the rapid development that is taking place near our communities since the infrastructure required to support such development does not yet exist;
- monitoring efforts by TxDOT to convert Loop 1604 and Bandera Road into toll roads;
- advocating that the city of San Antonio provide all residents with the option to utilize city environmental services, as required by law;
- advocating that the city of San Antonio meet the public safety needs of residents by providing adequate law enforcement, fire protection, and emergency medical services, as required by law;
- seeking to have TxDOT and the city of San Antonio enhance the safety of our roads;
- encouraging participation by residents in the National Night Out program; and
- sponsoring a Cub Scout Pack that meets at Bob Beard Elementary School.
If you're a resident of any of the affected subdivisions -- Helotes Park Terrace, The Park at French Creek, Fossil Springs Ranch, Fossil Springs, Sonoma Ranch, The Arbor at Sonoma Ranch, and Grandview -- we encourage you to become involved with us. Check out our web site. Sign up to receive regular updates about the communities or about the effort to overturn the annexation. Donate financially to our cause. With your help, we can make our communities some of the finest in the county.
